Who we are
Together with Families is an innovative family support organization that celebrates the humanity of parents and their families. Their primary goal is to keep families together. To do this, they promote safely reducing the number of children in foster care by giving families from underserved communities the tools, resources, and support systems they need to overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve lasting stability.
Together with Families’ Relational Approach is built on the belief that people thrive and heal in supportive relationships. By fostering communities based on trust, mutual vulnerability, and unconditional love, they create pathways to prevent foster care. Through the Relational Approach, families are seen as a strength, allowing individuals and generations to heal.
Our Mission
Together with Families prevents the trauma of family separation by connecting with underserved families, providing personalized support, and collaborating with those with lived experience while building a loving, supportive community.
Our Vision
All families have the support they need to safely stay together and thrive.

Our Fellows
To integrate family voices, Together with Families created two paid fellowship programs: the Design Team Fellowship and the Parent Ally Fellowship. The Design Team Fellowship is a nine-month fellowship that empowers previous program graduates with lived expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of their communities to contribute to the ongoing development and innovation of Together with Families. Fellows—who can be parents, kin, or youth (seventeen and over)—receive comprehensive training in computer skills, design thinking, project management, budget oversight, curriculum development, and program creation. They meet weekly and work on projects regularly, generating ideas, making decisions, and learning how to create programs, develop logic models, and shape the organization’s direction.
“Getting involved with Together with Families re-ignited the fire in me. When Together with Families launched its Design Team Fellowship, I joined hoping to bring my dreams off the shelf. I had the opportunity to lead a Design Team meeting and present my ideas. The team not only decided to move forward with my curriculum, but they also added a new idea. Many parents we work with want to start a small business but do not know where to start, so we decided to develop a curriculum to help them learn the basics. This particular curriculum is a way Together with Families can invest in many parents’ dreams. We are now developing the content with a plan to incorporate it into our Parent Ally and Mentee training.”
